Adoptive parents

I was reading today on the women’s bioethics blog about a study published in the American Sociological Review says that “couples who adopt spend more money on their children and invest more time on such activities as reading to them, eating together and talking with them about their problems.” The research was part of the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study and can be found here: http://www.asanet.org/galleries/default-file/Feb07ASRAdoption.pdf

As the mother of an adopted son, and waiting to adopt a daughter from China, I know this to be a fact! We waited so long to be parents, that we spend all of our free time and money on our son (and soon to be daughter), and we never take a second of our time with him for granted. We want the absolute best for our children, and will spare no expense of time or money to give them the best lives possible.
    Good luck with your adoption!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! You are my first commenter! Of course I haven’t gotten around to writing much here yet anyway.

I’ve waited so long to be a parent - I can’t wait to spend every minute with her that I can.
